About

Alan Zammit’s love for sport sowed the initial seed that triggered off the passion for his profession. As a highly successful athlete, Alan competed over a period of 15 years at the National and International level in two different sports – Athletics and Football.

 

Alan Qualified as a Physiotherapist in 1986 and held the posts of Vice president of the Malta sports Medical association, Malta Olympic Committee official physiotherapist for a number of years. He Read for a master’s degree at UCL (London) in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy 1996.

 

Alan lectured at the University of Malta covering the manual therapy and anatomy modules and has also organised numerous major conferences and courses locally on back pain, manual therapy, osteopathic Manipulation for physiotherapists, sports injuries, acupuncture, nutrition, exercise and body conditioning related topics.

 

He introduced ‘The Running School’ to Malta, which is an innovative methodology that allows us to analyze and correct, movement and running faults in walkers and runners. 

 

Alan believes in a holistic approach to physiotherapy, and unlike other centres that specialise mainly in one field only, Alan believes in having numerous specialists and facilities under one roof.  This allows the professional and the patient the freedom of treatments that you the patient may require to achieve normality, and in the case of an athlete, fitness levels that will help prevent the reoccurrence of any injury.
